Does insulating paint really work to keep steel buildings cooler in the summer?
I am particularly interested in hearing from folks who have used it for this application. Thanks.

I checked out their spiel on the website, and i’ve come to the conclusion that they’re playing fast and loose with the word “insulation”. Notice that they don’t give an R-value. Science hasn’t yet invented a material as thin as a coat of paint that would have an appreciative insulative value on the roof of a buildingwhich is irrelevant anyway, as cool air sinks and the insulative properties would be necessary at the ground level.
However, their claim for the micro-glass making the coating more reflective seems credible, so I could go along with that claim.
All in all, it sounds like an effective product, but for reasons other than any claimed insulating properties.
